Martain Teapot

We are a purple clay pot studio that has been passed down for three generations. The culture of purple clay pots began in the Ming Dynasty of China, from the tree gall pots and six-petal round pots used for spring during the Jiajing period of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty, to the creative design of Ji Hansheng and the production of Cao Anxiang. From the Chinese dragon teapot, a purple sand mandarin duck tea set that can brew two kinds of tea at the same time, to the Dharma milk teapot made by the Buddhist purple sand artist Yan Jian, each teapot is unique and has made great efforts in the appreciation of the teapot.

What is a purple clay teapot?

The purple clay pot is a unique hand-made clay handicraft in China. Its production began in the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty. The raw material for the production is purple clay. The origin is Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu Province. Since the Zhengde reign of Emperor Wuzong of the Ming Dynasty, purple clay teapots have been made into pots, and famous craftsmen have emerged in large numbers. Over the past 500 years, fine products have been handed down.
